In principle this keeps the structural deck usually trapezoidal steel or timber at more or less the same temperature as the inside of the building. This usually keeps the deck warm. In a warm roof construction the principal thermal insulation layer is located above the structural decking. Flat roof construction thermal design and condensation warm roof. They can be built up from profiled metal decks as the insulation selected would provide enough rigidity to span the open sections of such decks. It is the most acceptable type of construction for domestic possessions and belongings as it avoids the need for aeration of the roof construction. This type of roof has normally been used over small extensions to dwellings using timber joists and plywood.

In case of warm roofs they have an insulation above the roof deck in this way it keeps the deck warm.
